What You’ll Do
  • Lead backend development across core data and product systems.
  • Build real time data pipelines and high performance backend services.
  • Develop and improve algorithms, APIs, and data normalization workflows.
  • Enhance critical systems powering order flow, customer insights, and operations.
  • Automate manual processes to improve efficiency across teams.

What They’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of backend engineering or data focused software development.
  • Strong Python background; experience with APIs, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or similar systems.
  • Hands on experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB), Redis, and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to dashboarding/visualization tools (Looker, Grafana, etc.).
  • Experience in sports betting, iGaming, or financial markets is a plus.
  • Proactive, independent, and comfortable in a fast paced startup environment.

Role Overview My client is a Toronto based Sweepstakes operator who is searching for a hands on, Senior CRM Manager with igaming experience to join their growing marketing team. In this role, you’ll own the strategy, execution, and optimization of our customer messaging programs including automated lifecycle flows, in app and web messaging, SMS, and push notifications. You’ll play a key role in driving engagement, retention, and personalization across the iGaming brand using data driven, thoughtfully crafted campaigns. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, requiring 3 in office days per week. Key Responsibilities Automated Flow Development Design, build, and iterate on lifecycle, onboarding, engagement, and retention flows in Customer.io. Support CRM strategy across the brand with tailored user journeys. In App, Web App & SMS Messaging Plan and deploy targeted in app and web app messages across all major touchpoints. Manage SMS campaigns for audiences without access to push notifications. A/B Testing & Optimization Develop and execute A/B tests to refine messaging, timing, segmentation, and UX. Analyze results and implement data backed improvements. Rapid Flow Deployment Quickly build or adjust flows in response to evolving business needs, ensuring an agile CRM operation. Segmentation & Personalization Create advanced audience segments using behavioral, demographic, and event based data. Personalize message content to enhance relevance and performance. Performance Tracking & Reporting Monitor campaign metrics and user behaviors, providing insights and recommendations to key stakeholders. Continuously optimize flows to improve engagement and ROI. Cross Functional Collaboration Partner with product, data, and marketing teams to ensure CRM initiatives align with broader business goals and user expectations. Requirements 3+ years of experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, or retention strategy preferably in iGaming, mobile gaming, or related digital industries. Previous experience in sports betting, online casino, or daily fantasy sports environments. Strong understanding of A/B testing methodologies and statistical best practices. Experience with in app and web messaging ecosystems and tools. Ability to quickly build, modify, and troubleshoot flows based on business needs. Basic ability to write SQL (e.g., SQL Server) queries. Analytical mindset with experience evaluating CRM and engagement metrics. Excellent written communication skills and collaboration abilities. Bonus Points For: Working knowledge of APIs, event tracking, or basic HTML/CSS for template customization. Proficiency with Customer.io, including flow setup, liquid templates, and reporting. This role includes significant responsibilities in designing complex systems, advocating for best practices, and ensuring high code quality. As the primary developer for their mobile apps, you won’t just maintain code you’ll architect their mobile future, deciding where and how we use native modules to optimize for speed, gestures, and user delight. Based in their downtown Toronto office, you’ll work at the intersection of product, design, and core engineering, directly shaping the first impressions of every user. If you are an intermediate developer who loves building deep, fluid mobile interfaces, they want to hear from you.
