Job Title: Country Manager, Japan
Reports To: Head of Markets
Location: Remote
Role Overview: Your mission will be to harness our distinct brand proposition to further develop and expand our presence in the Japanese market.
This position will play a key role in driving growth, ROI and scalability as part of the company's regional market expansion.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a results-driven environment while fostering a strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the marketing strategy and overall business performance for the Japanese market.
Achieve financial KPIs and provide regular updates on business performance related to targets.
Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Lead the roadmap for Japanese market expansion and ensure timely market entry and access.
Identify product and platform needs for new market opportunities in Japan, followed by ongoing improvement and innovation.
Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to continuously improve the company's offerings.
Drive growth in user acquisition, retention, and revenue through targeted marketing and partnerships.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including affiliates, sports leagues, media, and other potential partners.
Collaborate with internal departments, including Customer Service, Affiliate Marketing, Content, Design, Legal, Product, Business Intelligence and other Country Managers, as needed
Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations, while maintaining strong relationships with external partners for smooth operations.
Identify business opportunities, market trends, and customer preferences to leverage growth potential.
Determine payment processing and provision requirements for the Japanese market, working closely with the payments team to implement effective solutions. • Stay updated on industry trends and market developments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years proven experience in a senior management role within the betting and gaming industry within a global environment.
3+ years record of accomplishment of working in betting within the Japanese market and therefore knowledgeable about this market.
Demonstrated ability to drive business growth in a competitive market.
Solid understanding of marketing, business development, and partnership management.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and delivering on financial KPIs.
Budget-management proficiency.
Experience representing a well-established brand.
Skills:
Fluency in both Japanese and English, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
Analytical skills to assess new Japanese market opportunities, existing deals, forecast performance, and identify trends.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate strategic plans and objectives across all levels of the organization.
Established organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong relationship-building skills to foster partnerships with key stakeholders and industry contacts.
Strategic mindset with a focus on delivering results, driving performance, and achieving business goals.
