- Assist clients with all aspects of direct taxation.
- Prepare comprehensive written tax opinions as required.
- Support tax compliance work, including Income Tax Returns and Claims for Refund.
- Liaise with auditors on tax-related matters.
- Advise and assist clients on fiscal obligations, ensuring timely compliance.
- Recommend tax-efficient strategies for corporate and personal affairs.
- Assist private clients with obligations under applicable Tax Residency Schemes.
- Provide exceptional service to clients, responding to their needs efficiently and professionally.
- ACCA qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ relevant experience in taxation.
- Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Maltese; proficiency in Italian is an advantage.

Strategic Legal Leadership
Act as the lead legal advisor on all legal and regulatory matters across jurisdictions.
Support the development and implementation of the global legal strategy to support the company’s commercial objectives.
Provide proactive and strategic legal advice on risk management, business expansion, M&A activity, and regulatory changes.
Regulatory Compliance & Licensing
Support the Head of Regulatory Compliance for all licensing matters for the company and its clients, including applications, renewals, and ongoing conditions of authorization in jurisdictions including the UK, Malta, Brazil, Ontario, Romania, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, and Spain.
Act as a senior point of contact for regulators and licensing authorities; manage regulatory inspections and ensure timely regulatory submissions.
Work closely with the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs teams to monitor and interpret laws and regulations, ensuring proactive compliance.
Commercial Contracts & Negotiation
Lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of high-value, complex commercial contracts, including software licensing agreements, reseller agreements, partnerships, NDAs, and joint ventures.
Provide internal stakeholders with commercially sound legal advice to support sales, product development, technology, and operations.
Corporate Governance
Support company secretarial functions, including Board and shareholder meetings, corporate filings, group structure optimization, and governance matters.
Advise on risk, liability, and corporate best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
Team Leadership & Development
Build and manage a high-performing legal team, including line management of junior counsel, external counsel, and legal operations professionals.
Promote a culture of legal awareness and risk-based decision-making throughout the company.
Data Protection Oversight
Oversee GDPR and data protection compliance across the business and serve as strategic legal support to the appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Manage legal aspects of cross-border data transfers, privacy incidents, and data-related contractual frameworks.
Essential Requirements
Qualified lawyer (EU or UK jurisdiction) with at least 8–10 years PQE.
Strong understanding of gambling regulation in key markets (e.g., UK, Malta, Ontario, Romania, Germany).
Proven track record in leading legal teams and advising executive leadership.
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experienced in commercial contracting, particularly within the software and technology sector.
High attention to detail, excellent judgment, and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
Desirable
Experience working with or advising Regulators.
Working knowledge of data protection, including GDPR and other cross-border privacy regimes.
Experience supporting legal aspects of product launches, platform configurations, and multi-jurisdictional rollouts.
