A successful B2B iGaming business is looking to hire a qualified Lawyer to support with a variety of duties covering;
 
  • Drafting and reviewing a variety of commercial agreements such as software licences, gaming licence agreements, non-disclosure agreements and services agreements, novations, terminations, amendments, branded and bespoke games and other legal documentation, as well as the handling of negotiations pertaining thereto.
  • Involvement and timely progression of ongoing commercial contracts and negotiations, including direct liaison with customers and suppliers.
  • Dealing with any post-contractual legal issues that may arise.
  • Reviewing and advising the business on the entry into terms and conditions with third parties.
  • Advising on various legal matters, as necessary, such as general contract law, topical legal issues and handling legal aspects of multiple projects undertaken by the business.
  • Assisting Senior Counsel where required.
  • Assist in the shaping, development and implementation of new processes and protocols.        
  • Supporting the development and delivery of training, on a regular and ongoing basis to the business to manage legal risks.
  • Assisting with updating and creating precedents.
  • Identifying legal risks and suggesting and overseeing the implementation of remedial plans.
  • Assisting in ad hoc legal projects.
  • Working as part of a team, this role is highly collegiate.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Solicitor/Advocate with 0-5 years PQE either in-house or within a private practice law firm.
  • Experience gained in the online gaming industry / sports betting / technology sector would be an additional benefit, but is not essential.
  • Self-driven and able to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion often within tight timeframes, prioritising competing workloads accordingly.
  • Uphold a high standard of work ethic, always ensuring to complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • A team player.
  • Motivated and proactive with a desire to learn.
  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with and sound understanding of commercial and corporate law concepts.

A UK based company is looking to hire a Compliance Manager. The Compliance Manager leads and manages our compliance framework across all areas of the business. This role is critical in ensuring our competitions, marketing activity, payment processes and customer interactions fully comply with UK laws, regulations and industry best practice. You will act as the subject-matter expert on regulatory compliance, working closely with senior leadership, marketing, product and operations teams to ensure compliance is embedded into everything we do. Responsibilities include; Ensure full compliance with UK legislation relevant to online competitions, including the Gambling Act 2005, CAP Code, Consumer Protection laws and data protection (UK GDPR). Assess whether competitions are structured as prize competitions, free draws or skill-based formats and ensure they meet legal requirements. Review and maintain all competition Ts&Cs to ensure compliance and fairness. Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on changes impacting operations. Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and internal controls. Conduct compliance risk assessments and audits, identifying gaps and recommending improvements. Establish, implement and maintain the QMS in line with ISO 9001 Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation. Review marketing materials, website content, terms & conditions and promotional campaigns for regulatory and advertising compliance. Work closely with marketing teams to ensure transparent, fair and compliant customer communications. Oversee processes relating to fairness, prize fulfilment, complaints handling, chargebacks, scam emails and customer support compliance, leading investigations where required. Ensure robust processes for age verification, AML (where applicable) and responsible participation. Accountable for implementation and ongoing management of GDPR compliance across the business, including identifying, investigating and responding to data breaches and Data Subject Access Requests. Acts as internal Data Protection Officer Provide compliance training and guidance across the business, acting as subject matter expert. Act as the primary point of contact for compliance queries and escalation. Develop and maintain rules for access to restricted or sensitive data Support due diligence and compliance oversight of payment providers, software partners and suppliers. Assist with audits or information requests from regulators, payment providers or external advisors. Experience Required: Proven experience in a compliance, regulatory or legal role within an online, digital, gambling, gaming or promotions-led business. Experience working with or advising online competition, prize draw, gaming or gambling businesses. Familiarity with ASA rulings, CAP Code enforcement and Gambling Commission guidance. Compliance qualification (e.g. ICA, CII or similar) or legal background. Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks relating to competitions, promotions or gambling. A highly successful company that has been growing over it's 25 years is looking to hire a Head of Sports, Legal and Compliance Their offices are just outside London and their requirement for hybrid working is 3 days per week in the office. ABOUT THE POSITION Reporting to the CFO, with direct access to the Executive Board on regulatory matters, you will lead sports compliance strategy and operations across UK FCA-regulated sports spread betting, UK Gambling Commission-regulated fixed odds sports betting, and their licensed sports betting operations in Denmark (Spillemyndigheden) and Ireland (transitioning from the Irish Revenue Commissioners to the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland). You will work in close partnership with our existing Head of FCA Compliance, Legal and MLRO, and will provide senior leadership and strategic direction others in the team ensuring that the sports business remains fully compliant, commercially agile and at the forefront of responsible gambling practice. This role’s responsibilities are: Own the regulatory relationship with each of the four sports licensing authorities and lead responses to enquiries, inspections and thematic reviews. Set and execute the firm's sports compliance strategy, translating multi-jurisdictional regulatory change into practical policy and process while ensuring that compliance supports, rather than unnecessarily constrains, commercial growth. Provide day-to-day legal advice on sports trading, product development, advertising, data rights and customer terms. Oversee safer gambling, social responsibility and sports-specific AML/CTF controls. Act as a Deputy MLRO alongside the existing Deputy MLRO. Design and deliver the annual sports compliance monitoring programme. Work with the CEO and CDO to develop and implement the firm's A.I. strategy within compliance, including prompt design, testing and regulatory assessment. Mentor and develop the sports compliance team. ABOUT YOU A first-class academic record, including a degree from a leading university.  A legal qualification (solicitor, barrister or equivalent) is strongly preferred, though candidates with an equivalent professional compliance qualification and outstanding practical experience will also be considered. Significant senior-level experience of running or playing a leading role in a compliance department at a sports betting or gambling firm, with demonstrable exposure to multi-jurisdictional regulation. Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical rigour and the ability to provide clear, commercially aware advice. A track record of building effective regulatory relationships and leading successful responses to regulatory enquiries or audits. The confidence and credibility to operate at senior management level and to influence across the business. Strong knowledge of the UK’s sports betting regulations and framework. Experience of or exposure to international gambling licensing regimes, including licensing applications, renewals and regulatory transitions.
