One of our fastest growing customers is looking for a Head of AI to work on a fully remote basis.

We are seeking a Head of AI to build and lead the development of AI systems that take on high-volume, repetitive decision-making, enabling our teams to focus on strategic and creative work.

You will own the AI agenda end-to-end, from team build-out to the design, deployment and governance of decisioning systems, along with the supporting data and evaluation infrastructure. Working closely with specialist teams, you’ll ensure systems reflect real expertise and deliver measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities

Design and deploy AI agents and LLM-based systems to automate specialist judgement tasks, optimising for cost, quality, latency and ROI
Build scalable data, retrieval and evaluation infrastructure to ensure decisions are explainable, testable and continuously improving
Partner with business teams to identify high-impact use cases and deliver production-ready solutions that enhance output
Establish robust data governance and responsible AI practices, including human-in-the-loop controls and regulatory compliance
Report on performance, decision quality and business impact to senior stakeholders

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in AI, data science or machine learning, including leadership of AI strategy and delivery at scale
Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related field
Hands-on expertise in ML, generative AI, LLMs and decisioning systems in production environments
Strong background in BI, marketing analytics and linking AI initiatives to commercial KPIs
Excellent stakeholder communication skills
Strategic, pragmatic and delivery-focused mindset
Experience applying AI in iGaming is essential

Director of Operations – Online Gaming Role Overview The Director of Operations – Online Gaming is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and regulatory compliance across Peermont’s online gaming division. This is a high-impact position with a defined pathway to General Manager within 12–18 months, based on performance. The role requires a proven operator with strong commercial acumen and leadership capability to build and scale a competitive online gaming business in the South African market. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Lead and develop functional heads, building a high-performing, accountable leadership team. Contribute to executive and board-level strategy, positioning online gaming as a key business unit. Develop the commercial and strategic capability to transition into the General Manager role. Operations Management Oversee day-to-day operations across sportsbook and casino verticals, ensuring performance, uptime, and player experience. Own operational KPIs, reporting, and performance reviews. Drive continuous improvement across all operational functions. Customer Experience & VIP Lead customer service strategy, ensuring high-quality support, fast response times, and strong resolution processes. Monitor satisfaction metrics and implement improvements based on insights. Oversee VIP programme, balancing premium service with commercial sustainability. Engage directly with high-value players where appropriate. Compliance & Risk Ensure full compliance with South African gaming regulations and licensing requirements. Experience & Qualifications Essential: 10+ years in online gaming operations, including senior leadership experience. Strong knowledge of sportsbook and/or casino operations at scale. Experience in regulated markets (compliance, licensing, responsible gambling). Proven leadership and team development capability. Strong analytical and commercial decision-making skills. Eligibility to work in South Africa. Desirable: Experience in African or emerging markets. Exposure to both online and land-based gaming. Familiarity with South African regulatory frameworks.
