The Company My client is a fast-growing international trading company operating within the Trading Card Game (TCG) market, with headquarters in Asia and an established logistics and warehousing presence in the United States. With continued expansion across key franchises and collectible categories, they are now looking to strengthen their US sourcing capability. The Role My client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and commercially driven TCG Card Buyer to lead sourcing and procurement across key collectible categories. Initially focused on Pokémon (English & Japanese), this role will evolve to include Sports Cards (NBA/NFL) and emerging TCG segments such as One Piece. This is a high-impact position requiring strong market awareness, authentication expertise, and the ability to consistently source high-value inventory at scale. Key Responsibilities Sourcing & Procurement Source and purchase Pokémon cards with an initial focus on English editions, followed by Japanese inventory. Identify and leverage multiple acquisition channels including marketplaces (eBay, TCGPlayer), card shows, private collectors, and dealer networks. Build profitable pipelines by targeting PSA-gradeable raw cards and high-grade inventory (PSA 9/10). Manage end-to-end PSA submission strategy to maximise return on investment. Expand procurement activities into Sports Cards and other TCG categories over time. Authentication & Quality Control Conduct detailed authenticity checks to identify counterfeit, altered, or restored cards. Validate PSA slabs using official tools and physical inspection methods. Utilise grading tools (e.g. calipers, UV light) to assess condition and integrity. Maintain strict quality standards with zero tolerance for inauthentic inventory. Market Intelligence Track pricing trends, liquidity, and demand signals across key marketplaces. Stay informed on new releases, reprints, and PSA population shifts. Provide regular insights and reporting to support procurement strategy. Vendor & Network Development Build relationships with dealers, collectors, and hobby communities. Attend events, trade shows, and conventions to expand sourcing channels. Negotiate effectively to secure inventory at competitive prices. Operations & Reporting Submit purchase proposals in line with internal approval processes. Maintain accurate and detailed procurement records. Coordinate closely with US warehouse operations for intake and tracking. Communicate regularly with international stakeholders across time zones. Requirements 3+ years’ experience buying/selling Pokémon TCG in a professional or high-level enthusiast capacity. Strong knowledge of Pokémon sets, variants, and market valuation (English & Japanese). Solid understanding of PSA grading standards and authentication processes. Proven ability to identify counterfeit or altered cards. Established presence on key platforms (eBay, TCGPlayer, etc.). Strong negotiation skills with a track record of sourcing below market value. Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. Ability to work cross-functionally with international teams. Desirable Experience sourcing via Japanese platforms (Yahoo Auctions, Mercari JP). Hands-on PSA submission experience and grading ROI knowledge. Exposure to Sports Cards or other TCG ecosystems. Existing dealer/collector network within the US. Additional language skills (Mandarin or Japanese).
