Compliance Operations Manager.

Remote job

Job ref46254
Post DateOctober 6, 2026
A group of industry veterans are about to launch an exciting iGaming company and wish to employ a Compliance Operations Manager working on Malta but remotely.
Why this role is different:
Most compliance roles are a spreadsheet, a shared inbox, and a quarterly scramble before an audit. This one isn't. They are building an AI-native control environment where obligations, evidence, monitoring and reporting live in the same system as the product itself, and the engineering team that built it sits next to you and builds what you specify. Instead of manually sampling transactions, you design the controls that watch every one. Instead of chasing screenshots for an audit, evidence is captured continuously as a by-product of how the platform runs. Instead of writing a policy that gathers dust, you encode They have an appointed compliance contact for the regulator who works with us one day a week and holds that named role; everything the function does between those days is yours, and the day-to-day operation of compliance is what they are hiring for. This is a build-the-function role, not a maintain-the-function role, with a clear path to Head of Compliance as they add markets.
What you'll do:
- Own day-to-day regulatory compliance across our licensed entities - with our first regulated brand going live shortly, this starts hands-on and fast.
- Translate regulatory obligations into concrete, testable controls: map requirements to systems, owners and evidence, and keep that map current as both regulation and product change.
- Partner with engineering and product to further design compliance into the platform - responsible gambling tooling, self-exclusion integrations, player protection limits, advertising and bonus rules, game and supplier certification.
- Run AML/CTF operations: risk assessment, transaction monitoring rules and tuning, escalation, suspicious transaction reporting, and record-keeping.
- Draft and maintain policies, procedures and internal controls that people actually follow - and that survive external audit.
- Review marketing, promotions and product changes pre-launch, and give clear, fast answers on what ships and what doesn't.
- Support licensing and market-entry work as we expand into additional regulated jurisdictions.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years in compliance, regulatory affairs or risk within online gaming, payments, or another regulated financial services environment, with at least 2 running compliance day to day.
- Working knowledge of at least one serious regulated gaming regime - Ontario (AGCO/iGO), MGA, UKGC or comparable - and the judgment to learn the next one quickly.
- Real AML/CTF experience: risk assessments, monitoring rules and tuning, escalation, and reporting.
- Genuine interest in using automation and AI to do this job better. You don't need to write code, but you should want to design systems rather than operate manually.
- Based on Malta

An exciting new product offering in fully Regulated Markets is about to go live with industry veterans and they are looking to hire a Finance Manager. This is a Malta based, non -office working role.
Why this role is different:You will run finance operations on a platform we have built ourselves. Every transaction, every processor and supplier settlement, every fee and every bank movement lands in the same data warehouse, and the engineering team that built it sits next to you and builds what you specify. Instead of reconciling by hand, you design the reconciliations and controls that run every night, and you spend your time on the exceptions and the decisions rather than the matching.
You are joining as our first finance operations hire, with a clear path to Head of Finance as we add markets, processors and payment methods. This is a build-the-function role, not a maintain-the-function role.
What you'll do
? Own the daily cash position across operating, segregated and processor accounts, and confirm that segregated funds cover player balances under our Player Funds Protection Policy.
? Manage the payment processor relationships day to day, and keep processor balances at the level we need.
? Make the weekly payment to iGaming Ontario and track the operator share back into our accounts.
? Reconcile processor settlements and fees to the wallet ledger at transaction level, and work exceptions.
? Reconcile game supplier and platform fees to our own game data before they are paid.
? Run the supplier payment cycle: approve invoices against the reconciliations, keep payment approvals and bank signatory controls in place, and own the bank relationships.
? Track every gap between money owed and money received: settlement timing, rolling reserves, in-transit deposits, and anything else that leaves a gap.
? Work the chargeback, dispute and refund queue, and reconcile the resulting debits.
? Prepare the monthly player-funds reconciliation the policy requires, ledger to bank to processor reports.
? Run the withdrawal review queue: large payouts, holds pending verification, and manual approvals.
What you'll bring
? 5+ years in finance, with at least 2 running treasury, finance or payment operations day to day in online gaming, payments, or another regulated financial services environment.
? Direct experience with payment processors: settlement files, rolling reserves, chargebacks, fee reconciliation and term negotiation.
? A regulated background where customer money is segregated.
? Genuine interest in using automation and AI to do this job better. You don't need to write code, but you should want to design systems rather than operate manually.
? Based in Malta for remote working ideally.
Nice to have:
? CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent designation.
? Experience being the first finance hire or standing up a treasury function from scratch.
? Interac, Canadian EFT or other North American payment rails.
? Exposure to Ontario (AGCO/iGO), MGA or UKGC funds-protection requirements.
An excellent salary is on offer for this hire.

Internal Audit Manager
Leading iGaming Operator | Sliema, Malta | Hybrid
Our client is one of the most exciting growth-stage operators in European iGaming right now. In under seven years, they've built a portfolio of regulated casino brands across Finland, the Netherlands, and Portugal — and they're not done yet.
Now, as the business scales across multiple regulated markets, they're building the governance infrastructure to match their ambitions. This is a genuinely rare opportunity: a newly created Internal Audit Manager role that reports directly to the CEO, with the scope to build the function from the ground up in a company that takes compliance as seriously as it takes product.
The Role
You'll be the first dedicated Internal Audit hire — which means real ownership, real impact, and a direct line to the CEO and Board. The framework exists; you'll sharpen, embed, and run it. This is not a back-office compliance role. It's a strategic function with teeth.
Your core focus will be across four areas:
Strategic audit planning — building and owning the audit programme, risk assessments, and objectives across all markets
Compliance oversight — MGA, KSA, and Portuguese gambling regulations, AML, and corporate governance
Operational auditing — independent review of financial, operational, and control processes across the business
Game Risk — acting as the company's Game Risk Analyst under Dutch RG regulations, owning the game risk classification and policy
As the business grows, you'll build and lead the internal audit team around you.
What They're Looking For
At least 3 years' experience in the iGaming industry — audit experience preferred but not essential
Solid knowledge of MGA, KSA, or Portuguese gambling regulations (one or more)
An investigative mindset — someone who spots what others miss and asks the right questions
Previous MGA Key Function Holder experience is a strong plus
Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred; internal audit qualification an asset
Fluent English; Dutch and/or Portuguese a significant advantage
Hands-on, ethical, and comfortable working at pace in a scale-up environment
What's On Offer
? Hybrid working model
? Brand new Malta offices with private parking
? Competitive salary (DOE)
? Private health insurance
? Wellness allowance up to €600/year
? Meal allowance
? Employee assistance programme
? Company discounts & birthday perks
? Daily office lunches & healthy snacks
? Direct CEO reporting line
About the Company
Our client is an ambitious, fast-growing online casino operator active across regulated European markets, with offices in Malta, Estonia and the Netherlands. Operating across three regulated jurisdictions and holding licences from the MGA and KSA, they have built a culture defined by simplicity, integrity, and trust — and they're scaling fast. With around 100 people and multiple established brands, this is a business at an exciting inflection point.
