Executive Director of Operations

Schedule: Hybrid (2 - 3 days on-site)

About the Role 

Our client is seeking an Executive Director of Operations to serve as a strategic and hands-on leader driving operational excellence across the enterprise. This role is both highly strategic and deeply tactical, functioning as a connective hub across the organization to ensure that systems, processes, people, and platforms are aligned to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and partners.

This leader will operate as a chief-of-staff-style partner to executive leadership, flexing up and down with teams as needed, leading complex programs end-to-end, and collaborating closely with all functions, including Technology, Product Innovation, People & Culture, Marketing, Finance, and Facilities. 


What You’ll Do 

  • Lead and execute an enterprise-wide operations strategy aligned with the clients’ mission, values, and long-term strategic plan 

  • Build scalable operational frameworks, systems, and policies that enable growth, efficiency, and continuous improvement 

  • Serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership, supporting strategic planning, program delivery, and cross-functional execution 

  • Act as a cross-functional integrator, driving alignment and accountability across all departments 

  • Oversee process design, workflow optimization, and operational KPIs 

  • Lead vendor strategy, contract performance management, and service-level agreements 

  • Partner with Technology, Product, People & Culture, Finance, and Marketing to ensure systems support evolving organizational needs 

  • Guide system upgrades, data governance, risk mitigation, cybersecurity awareness, and business continuity planning 

  • Own operational budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation 

  • Ensure compliance across legal, financial, data privacy, cybersecurity, and organizational policies 

  • Maintain readiness for audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements 


What We’re Looking For 

Experience & Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred) 

  • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience 

  • Proven success leading enterprise operations, systems oversight, and organizational transformation 

  • Experience driving complex, cross-functional programs from strategy through execution 

Core Skills 

  • Exceptional communicator that can clearly articulate strategy, priorities, and decisions to stakeholders at all levels 

  • Hands-on and strategic mindset with comfortability zooming out to strategy and diving into execution 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in complex, fast-moving environments 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining clarity and focus 

Preferred Certifications  

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), CM, CSCP, or CMQ/OE
