Senior IP Lawyer Reporting line Head of IP Primary locations Bangkok | Dubai | Malta Headcount 3 Purpose: Lead the company’s global intellectual-property programme—trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, domains - by setting strategy, securing registrations, enforcing rights through takedown actions, oppositions, and litigation, and resolving disputes so that every core asset is protected and monetised. Core responsibilities: Portfolio strategy: Design the annual filing and renewal roadmap by IP type, territory, class, and budget. • Continuously audit the portfolio, identify gaps, and recommend defensive or offensive fillings. Clearance and prosecution: Oversee knockout and full searches, issue legal researches and opinions, and approve go/no-go decisions. Direct outside agents on national and Madrid filings; manage examiner actions, renewals, and recordals. Target ? 90 % registration success across all applications. Audit and keep updated internal IP registry. Lead copyrights registrations for different types of IP. Enforcement and dispute resolution: Decide on oppositions, cancellations, DMCA notices, UDRP/URS complaints, customs seizures, platform takedowns, and litigation. Lead settlement negotiations and supervise external lawyer in multi-jurisdictional cases related to IP. Ensure strategic use of registrar, and platform abuse channels for every action. Commercial support: Draft and negotiate IP clauses in licensing, distribution, M&A, and technology agreements. Advise Marketing, Product, R&D, and HR on proper trademark and copyright usage Digital brand protection: Oversee monitoring and legal escalation of infringements across domains, app stores, ads, social media, and code repositories. Authorise rapid takedowns through registrars, Netcraft, Cloudflare, Google TCRP, etc. Governance and reporting Maintain an audit-ready docket and a live risk dashboard. Deliver concise weekly updates to the Head of IP and quarterly IP heat-maps to the Board Leadership. Mentor enforcement specialists and paralegals; build SOPs and playbooks. Drive continuous improvement to cut cycle times and external spend. Required qualifications: LL.B./JD and active licence to practise law in at least one jurisdiction. 7+ years of hands-on IP work, including global brand protection, takedown and domain dispute enforcement, and contested matters. Proven wins in oppositions, UDRP/URS, and at least one multi-country litigation or high-value settlement. Strong contract-drafting skills for licensing and tech transactions. Fluent English; an additional Asian or EU language is an advantage. Proficiency with leading IP-management and brand-monitoring platforms (Corsearch, MarkMonitor, Red Points) plus solid Excel/Sheets capability. Key attributes: Decisive under time pressure; comfortable acting on incomplete data. Clear, persuasive writer and negotiator.  Data-driven mindset; tracks ROI on every initiative. High integrity with strict confidentiality standards. Natural mentor who elevates team performance. Success metrics (first 12 months): All critical filings, renewals, and recordals completed on or before deadline. ? 90 % acceptance rate for new applications. 24-hour first response to high-risk infringements; average takedown ? 3 days.  ? Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and assertive IP Counsel for Litigation & Enforcement to join our Global Legal Group. This role is dedicated to protecting and enforcing our company's valuable intellectual property rights across the globe. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned litigator with deep experience in managing a wide array of IP disputes, including trademark, copyright, patent, and trade secret matters. You will be responsible for developing and executing robust global enforcement strategies, from online brand protection and anti-piracy actions to complex, cross-border litigation. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proactive mindset, who can work collaboratively with legal and business teams worldwide to safeguard our brands and innovations. Key Responsibilities: 1. IP Litigation Management: ? Manage a global portfolio of IP litigation, including trademark and copyright infringement lawsuits, patent disputes, and trade secret misappropriation cases. ? Develop and execute comprehensive litigation strategies, from initial case assessment and pre-litigation counseling through discovery, trial, and appeal. ? Select, instruct, and manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring effective and cost-efficient case handling. ? Draft and review legal briefs, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements. ? Represent the company in direct negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. 2. Global IP Enforcement & Brand Protection: ? Design and implement a proactive, worldwide IP enforcement program to combat infringement, counterfeiting, and piracy. ? Oversee online brand protection efforts, including managing domain name disputes (UDRP), social media takedowns, and marketplace monitoring and enforcement. ? Manage global trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings to protect the integrity of our brand portfolio. ? Collaborate with customs authorities and law enforcement agencies globally to execute anti-counterfeiting strategies and seizures. ? Advise on complex issues related to intermediary liability and safe harbor provisions. 3. Strategic Counseling & Risk Mitigation: ? Provide expert legal advice to business, marketing, and product teams on IP risks associated with new products, marketing campaigns, and business initiatives. ? Conduct IP-related due diligence for M&A and other corporate transactions. ? Assist the broader IP team in developing and refining global IP prosecution and portfolio management strategies based on enforcement trends and litigation outcomes. ? Educate and train internal stakeholders on best practices for IP protection and risk management. Qualifications and Requirements: ? Qualified to practice law in a major common law or civil law jurisdiction (e.g., UK, USA, EU member state, etc.). ? Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience (PQE) with a primary focus on intellectual property litigation and enforcement, gained at a top-tier law firm and/or a multinational in-house legal department. ? Demonstrable, hands-on experience managing a variety of IP disputes (trademark, copyright, patent) across multiple international jurisdictions. ? Proven track record in developing and executing online and offline brand protection strategies. ? Strong knowledge of international IP laws, treaties, and enforcement frameworks. ? Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and legal drafting skills. ? Ability to think strategically and provide commercially-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment. ? Exceptional project management skills with the ability to independently manage a large and diverse caseload. ? Experience in the technology, entertainment, gaming, or consumer products industries is highly desirable. Education: ? LL.B., J.D., or equivalent law degree from a reputable university. ?
