I am seeking a dynamic Vice President of Engineering to lead the establishment of our engineering operations in India, the role is fully remote within India.
This strategic role is ideal for a technically proficient leader who is prepared to build and manage a high-performing team from the ground up. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our technological development, driving innovation, and maintaining our commitment to excellence in a competitive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to establish our engineering presence in India.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Oversee the development of cloud-native solutions and ensure the integration of core web frameworks like React.
- Maintain deep knowledge of cloud architecture and service providers such as AWS and GCP to guide and optimise our technological infrastructure.
- Actively contribute to coding and development tasks, especially during the initial stages of team formation, setting a high technical standard through personal involvement.
- Ensure that all engineering projects meet high standards and are delivered on schedule.
- Collaborate with an equivalent engineering team based in Australia to align strategies and innovate across borders, enhancing the global impact of our technological solutions.
- Promote and embody the start-up culture, demonstrating flexibility, a hands-on approach, and a readiness to tackle challenges head-on.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a technology-driven environment, preferably in a start-up or dynamic growth setting.
- Extensive technical expertise in developing cloud-native solutions, with a solid understanding of modern core web frameworks like React.
- Hands-on experience in architecture, coding and software development, with the ability to contribute directly to projects.
- Familiarity with major cloud service platforms, including AWS and GCP.
- Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and lead a team of software engineers.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver projects within tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-cultural and remote teams.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
