About the role: 

This is an involved, hands-on and challenging position suitable for someone excited by a disruptive approach to traditional methods; and who is strategic and analytical yet commercial in their thinking and behaviours. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive legal and compliance framework to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards. 

  • Leading the compliance programme by directing and coordinating activities to ensure that the compliance regime and processes are maintained in accordance with current and future regulatory policies. 

  • Monitor changes in gaming regulations and legislation in Brazil, assessing potential impact on the company's operations and advising on appropriate courses of action. 

  • Maintaining appropriate oversight across the business globally; identification, documentation and assessment of the regulatory, operational and conduct assessments of risks associated with the firm’s activities, including the development of new products, business practices and financial promotions. 

  • Building strong business partnerships and seek to provide business enablement advice and assistance on initiatives, from an operational, regulatory and conduct perspective. Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and legal counsel to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in gaming regulation and compliance. 

  • Lead investigations into compliance breaches or legal violations, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external advisors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. 

  • Develop and deliver training programs and initiatives to promote awareness of legal and compliance requirements among employees and stakeholders. 

  • Reporting to senior management, the Board, Audit and Risk Committees, with a key focus on pro-actively addressing changes in regulation, as well as any breaches and/or deficiencies and applying corrective measures to address them. 

  • Offering advice and guidance on Regional and Global expansion from a compliance and regulatory perspective, resolving compliance related incidents and gaps, and managing government relations with relevant regulatory agencies, any license related processes, and reporting to regulators and other external third parties, such as auditors and banks. 

  • Managing and mentoring a team, to hire and retain staff, to motivate and develop them with the aim of establishing a “best in class” firm-wide compliance culture. 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team, providing timely and accurate legal guidance to support strategic decision-making.
