The Senior Director of Finance leads all financial activity at two Racing & Gaming facilities, including accounting, financial analysis, cash operations, revenue audit, purchasing, and compliance. This role manages the timely preparation and analysis of financial results and establishes and maintains internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with gaming and other regulations. The role also supports capital management and provides financial decision support to property leadership.

 
Essential Duties & responsibilities:
  • Lead all financial activities including accounting, financial planning and analysis, revenue audit, and customer service operations.
  • Supervise and direct day-to-day operations of finance and operations teams.
  • Provide guidance, counseling, and training to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Lead development of financial analytics and long-term forecasting.
  • Conduct monthly financial analysis and forecast updates.
  • Develop annual operating and capital plans.
  • Provide financial modeling for capital management, pricing, sponsorships, and vendor activities.
  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and purchasing processes.
  • Implement and monitor controls over accounting, treasury, and cash processes.
  • Manage audits and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities and corporate purchasing teams.
  • Refine financial and operating statistics to drive performance.
  • Review departmental financials with operational leaders.
  • Drive continuous operational improvements.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid racing license.
  • Willingness to pass gaming licensing suitability requirements.

 

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a financial department.
  • Experience in gaming financial analysis and casino operations preferred.
  • Extensive experience in financial accounting, treasury management, budgeting, and cost accounting.

My client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Director of Revenue Audit to lead and oversee all aspects of gaming and non-gaming revenue audit operations at its New Kent, Virginia properties. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards across multiple departments and revenue streams. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all revenue audit functions, including gaming accounting, AML compliance, and regulatory filings. Oversee audits across cage, count room, HHR, retail, and F&B departments. Ensure compliance with GAAP, Title 31, Bank Secrecy Act, and internal control policies. Analyze financial variances and trends; prepare and review financial reports. Supervise and develop audit team members, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
