.NET TEAM LEAD – Event-Driven Architectures & Microsoft Orleans

We’re looking for a Senior C# Tech Lead with a proven background in building high-performance, event-driven systems to join our engineering team. This is a critical technical leadership role within a major sportsbook platform development project. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Microsoft Orleans, Apache Pulsar, and has worked in sportsbook, fintech, or other complex, real-time domains with demanding uptime and concurrency needs.

 

This is a full-time, fully remote role open to professionals located within Europe, hired on a 100% B2B basis.

 

What You’ll Do

• Lead the architecture and development of distributed, event-driven systems using C#/.NET
• Drive implementation of the Microsoft Orleans framework for actor-based microservices and stream processing
• Manage event pipelines and messaging infrastructure via Apache Pulsar
• Ensure backend systems are scalable, low-latency, and highly available—suitable for real-time, high-traffic platforms
• Act as the technical lead across projects, aligning team efforts with architectural goals and business priorities
• Define and enforce coding standards, architectural best practices, and quality metrics
• Mentor developers and lead regular code reviews and technical discussions
• Work closely with architects, DevOps, and product managers to deliver strategic platform improvements
• Lead project planning, sprint delivery, and stakeholder reporting
• Triage and resolve technical issues in production environments
• Oversee cloud deployment strategies (Azure or AWS), with an emphasis on resilience and scale

 

What You Bring

• 8+ years of experience in backend development with strong C#/.NET expertise
• Proven experience designing and delivering event-driven systems
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Orleans and Apache Pulsar
• Deep understanding of real-time messaging, microservices, and high-throughput infrastructure
• Experience working on sportsbook, fintech, or similarly complex domains involving large-scale, mission-critical platforms — mandatory
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) for event-based deployments
• Ability to guide a team through technical decisions, development challenges, and scaling strategies
• Strong communication, mentorship, and leadership abilities
• Experience with Agile methodologies and distributed team environments
