The Spanish iGaming market presents both challenges and opportunities for operators. The market has been experiencing continued growth, with gross gambling revenue (GGR) up 78.2% year-on-year during the fourth quarter of 2022.
However, increased regulations following the Senate Gambling Law 2011 reforms last year have created a few difficulties in the Spanish iGaming market. The new legislation includes more stringent advertising rules and safeguards requiring customers to set session times and spend amounts for online casinos and slots, nevertheless, it doesn’t appear to have dampened the market overall.
While growth is always something to celebrate, it does create a few recruitment challenges. Operators need to recruit top talent to ensure they can continue to grow, innovate and compete in the market, and more regulatory change increases demand for highly skilled candidates such as legal and compliance specialists.
