Senior Modelling Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Modelling Analyst to join our Data Insights Group. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and reporting skills and understand how to use them to deliver user-friendly reports and clear, actionable insight.
Our client is seeking a candidate that has worked in a customer-focused industry. Experience in betting/gaming, or comparable eCommerce industries, would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
This role will provide the candidate with the opportunity to lead modelling projects end-to-end. The candidate will be capable of building and developing models to determine the key factors behind a customer’s behaviour and business performance; as well as predict/forecast future behaviour based on past performance. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to prioritise requests on the go and deliver the most impactful work to stakeholders.
The candidate will work in the Data Insights team which supports the wider business to ensure we have the optimal strategy for our decisions.
This role has a lot of variety, the candidate will have exposure to the top level of the business; will help to drive our data strategy; and will have a large amount of freedom to develop the role further.
Support all activities associated with the creation, implementation, maintenance, measurement, analysis and reporting of predictive analytics models.
Design and manage reports/dashboards for clearly communicating results and conclusions of modelling projects to stakeholders.
Work with Sportsbook, Casino, Marketing, and the wider business to enhance our business strategy.
Create and maintain segmentation models that allow greater understanding of the customer and enable us to project future performance.
The candidate should have 2+ years experience in a similar role and have a list of examples of previous projects, and their impact.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
The candidate should be well versed in the use of database querying software such as MySQL or Redshift, and using the same for modelling customer behaviour alongside an analytical tool such as SPSS, R, or SAS
A good knowledge of data analysis, theory and multivariate statistical techniques (e.g. Logistic Regression, Decision Trees).
Ability to act as ‘Team Expert’ in a specialist knowledge area of analytics that will complement the detailed knowledge of other team members.
Proven experience of delivery of insight to a non-technical audience
Ability to work to your own initiative and in collaboration on a wide variety of projects concurrently.
Pro-active problem-solving attitude with flexibility to work with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds.
A knowledge/understanding of Sports and/or Casino betting and terminology.
Previous experience within the betting/gaming industry is an advantage; but if the candidate can demonstrate similar duties in another industry lack of betting exposure will not be an issue.
Experience with machine learning, data mining, regression analysis and other predictive modeling techniques is desirable.
