Senior Marketing Manager (Italy)

Our client who is a worldwide operator is looking for an expert in the italian market. This person will be in charge of a large marketing budget and making sure the company’s awareness in the market continues to grow. This will involve organising industry specific events, making sure the brand is represented well both online and in marketing material and both creating and leading the marketing strategy.

The person will be somebody who has extensive experience digital marketing (ideally in high regulated industries tobacco, pharmacy, alcohol and similar). He will have created and lead marketing strategies and understands what is needed to get a brands name in front of the competition in an hostile regulatory frame. Experience of delegating and organising a team is also desired. This role would suit someone looking to make that jump up to run their own marketing strategy. You will have had events experience and understand what is needed in order to make a stand successful.

This role is located in Milan.

Responsibilities:

  • In charge of a large marketing budget and making sure the company’s awareness in the market continues to grow
  • Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our company and drive qualified traffic to our front door
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
  • Creating and leading marketing strategies and understands what is needed to get a brands name in front of the competition in a high regulated environment
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels - content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis and much more
  • Managing local agencies and ensuring that the media planning, buying, local rates and negotiations are reviewed and challenged where required and meet best practice approaches
  • Planning and implementation of the marketing strategy across channels
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
  • Be in charge of marketing budget and allocate/invest funds wisely
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals

Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
  • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
  • Good taste, a sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Experience in Brand/Consumer/Digital/Content marketing, communications/PR, account management/program management and PR experience at an agency and/or in a corporate setting
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of online marketing planning and campaign evaluation to include experience of managing, search marketing (PPC & SEO), day to day affiliate marketing management, display and experience of social networking.
  • Managed third parties and agencies
  • Italian mother tongue or equivalent and English with superior written and oral communication skills
