I am looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join the sports betting team as a Commercial Manager. Reporting to the Head of the Commercial, the new recruit will manage and shape the commercial relationships with a range of partners, suppliers and content providers.

Attention to detail is a must, alongside an ability to analyse and interpret financial and performance related information to make practical recommendations and negotiate effective outcomes, both inside and outside of the business.

The Commercial Manager will play a key role in identifying and evaluating commercial and strategic opportunities, working alongside internal stakeholders to formulate proposals and appraise new product additions.  In doing so, they’ll gain a unique opportunity to learn how commercial and strategic concepts are applied in the betting and gaming industry, and be given the responsibility to make a real and valued contribution to our ongoing success.

The successful applicant will:

  • Manage commercial relationships with several of key partners, from day-to-day communication on commercial matters through to detailed financial analysis, forecasting and contract negotiation.
  • Own the company’s relationships with data and content suppliers from across the industry, and lead in evaluating opportunities to secure access to rights and content.
  • Shape the commercial route to market for new products and services, and support product price list refinement based on feedback from partners, prospects and the business development team.
  • Liaise with the Group’s finance function and departmental heads to produce monthly performance analysis and reporting for senior internal stakeholders, including the Group CEO and Operations Board.
  • Support senior internal stakeholders with market research and business case preparation for company-wide strategic initiatives. 
  • Assist in the production of formal tender submissions and on-boarding agreements, which underpin the commercial relationships with partners and suppliers.

Key Relationships

  • External – Operational and commercial staff at partner companies and suppliers to ensure strong communication lines.
  • Internal – Business Development, Product & Operations / Finance / Legal teams to ensure communication of customer needs and to follow up actions.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

A business or marketing degree is preferred, but not as important as a genuine interest in the corporate world and an insatiable appetite to learn how commercial and strategic concepts are applied in the betting and gaming industry.

Ideally the candidate will be able to evidence sound commercial acumen, be it through prior work placement or similar, and an interest in sports betting.

The candidate will have a 2.1 degree or higher in any discipline, ideally from a red brick university, with excellent written and numerical skills and a sound understanding of Microsoft office, particularly Excel.

They will be enthusiastic, motivated and self-confident, with the ability to form excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
