The Role

With Data being one of our strategic pillars, playing an essential role in our vision and plan for global expansion, we are looking for a Data Director, responsible for
understanding the data needs across the company and for developing and executing a roadmap to maximize data capabilities and business insights.
The role will be responsible for scaling the data function as new products and services are implemented, and transforming data into insights that will form our strategy and decision making and elevate our expansion plans and international competitiveness.

Preferred locations: Portugal, Romania, Brazil & Greece.

Responsibilities

• Lead a structured team of ~60 Data Scientists, ML Engineers, BI professional and Database Engineers, providing vision, direction, and day-to-day management in order to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the Business information needs and align with the information and strategy. 
• Report directly to a member of the Executive Committee and work closely with the executive team to develop an organization plan that addresses company-wide analytic resources
• Responsible for defining the Data and Analytics vision, strategy and roadmap and responsible for monitoring and guiding its implementation.
• Guide the future direction of data strategy and processes, including intake,sources, database design and structure, data integrity and database tools.
• Responsible for the Department’s budget and allocation of resources, through constant evaluation of technologies and tools, ensuring that they are constantly being on the technology edge.
• Drive the aggressive expansion of the team to meet the business requirements.
• Create a common data framework so that all company data can be analyzed in a unified manner.
• Collaborates extensively with cross functional business partners, playing a crucial role in interfacing with various technology teams and business
• stakeholders to identify requirements, converting them to functional specs, prioritizing, and driving execution using agile methodologies.
• Drive key projects including customer intelligence deep dives, advanced customer segmentation etc and achieve the right balance between statistical and non statistical approaches.
• Leverages data science tools and techniques in order to develop custom models and algorithms to uncover insights, trends, and patterns in the data.
• Proactively identify business challenges and opportunities through data analysis, and work with business leaders to find strategic solutions.

Qualifications:

• Seasoned Executive in the field of Data rich environments with deep understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics and data management.
• Experienced in managing a team of technical and functional staff and working in a matrix environment. 
• Creative thinker with excellent interpersonal, collaboration, & communication skills at all levels, including data professionals, business stakeholders & senior executives.
