As a member of the “development team” and wider team you are an integral part of not only helping deliver quality, but also defining what quality looks like from the very beginning.
The main duty of a QA tester is to identify and rectify any issues with the software before development. Through critical thinking, analysis and clear definitions, the QA tester guides the developers as they create a fully functioning platform together as a team.
From start to finish the QA tester is required to fully understand specifications and requirements to translate that into the best user experience possible.
The ability to understand from the customers point of view is a vital skill which enables the best possible quality across the teams and platform. You will be required to write new tests along with updating existing tests in order to ensure strong automation.
As a QA tester, in addition to building and maintaining test scripts, you will be monitoring levels of regression, using black-box style testing, as well as orphaned tests to reduce the severity and scale of technical debt.
