The Role:

As part of the Data Tech Leadership team, the QA Tech Lead is responsible to develop a test strategy ensuring the integrity, quality, and availability of our entire data suite. This includes implementing test cases to verify new functionality, test case automation, and execution/analysis of regression test results. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the test environment for all the Data Lakes forming part of the broader Data Mesh paradigm.

We are looking for a hands-on QA tech lead that focuses on supporting how data engineers and data scientists produce and monitor their data ensuring that it adheres to the highest standard of quality. The role will involve liaising and working with other tech leads within the company.

The QA Tech Lead would need to go to the office in London one day per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test automation framework for our cloud data platform based on standard continuous integration and delivery methodologies
  • Define a test strategy and maintain test scripts to ensure data workflows meet acceptance criteria
  • Test data ingestion and aggregation workflows
  • Mentor and support members of the team to develop their technical abilities
  • Develop validation and verification plans against the requirements
  • Identify gaps in the quality assurance, data management, and testing processes
  • Drive continuous improvement

  • Stay up to date with latest industry trends and technologies

Required Skills

  • 5 years of previous software quality assurance experience or B.Sc / M.Sc in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong experience in applying testing methodologies for data workflows
  • Hands-on experience in QA automation framework development
  • Hands-on experience in CICD principles and tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Nexus or Artifactory
  • Good knowledge in Java, Python, or any other scripting language
  • Cloud computing experience on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP
  • Familiar with data orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Luigi
  • Familiar with any data lake technologies such as Kafka, Avro, Parquet and Spark
  • Familiarity with Data Quality frameworks like Apache Griffin, AWS Deequ and Great Expectations would be considered an asset
  • Strong ability to create and understand SQL queries
  • Good problem solving and analytical thinking to triage issues
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Fluency in both written and oral English
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders whilst still being able to work autonomously
  • Experience in gambling industry is a plus
