PHP / Wordpress Developer (Hybrid).

We are looking for an experienced PHP/WordPress Developer with demonstrable skills in both front and backend technologies to join my client on a remote hybrid setup from Andover/London area.

Working in the development team, you will be responsible for the technical implementation and maintenance of our web products. 

An ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, innovation, opensource technologies and enthusiastic about learning new technologies and sharing knowledge at our client's skill-sharing sessions. 



  • Reporting to the Head of Product, you will be required to liaise directly and effectively with various teams
  • Build websites from scratch primarily using WordPress but some experience of other platforms would be an advantage.
  • Able to code and build bespoke sites as well as design and develop websites using off-the-shelf commercial themes.

Job at hand:

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability of products
  • Managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
  • Working with the Product Owner to develop a strong search strategy for the respective product(s)
  • Converting business requirements into a solution design
  • Work alongside developers and designers, discuss work and requirements through JIRA
  • Take part in code reviews and ensure a high standard of code quality
  • Work on revising and developing data-crunching algorithms

An ideal profile might look like:

  • Any of the following would be an advantage: 
  • Professional experience with PHP
  • Experience in using MySQL
  • HTML5, CSS3, Ajax
  • Experience writing vanilla JavaScript and its frameworks (React, Vue, etc)
  • WordPress or other PHP CMS (Drupal, Magento, etc)
  • Solid knowledge of Git 
  • An understanding of RestAPI architecture 
  • Developing or integrating web services and APIs
  • Experience working with continuous integration software
