Our client, a leading online gaming provider for the Canadian Market, is hiring an experienced Business Data Analyst to join their team one a remote basis (you can be based anywhere in the world as long as you adjust to Canadian East Coast time zones!)

You will be responsible for developing models that define, profile and model customer behaviors. You will also be required to investigate and discover customer insights to help us make smarter decisions and deliver a better customer experience and refine our products. Your primary focus will be on applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems that will be integrated with the client’s products.

 

Role:

  • Understanding business objectives and performing analysis to deliver insights and define possible solutions
  • Extending the company’s datasets with third party sources of information when needed
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Build relationships across teams to leverage and extend existing analytical research
  • Learn from, and share knowledge and skills with your teammates to grow BI’s total impact to the organization
  • Data mining
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results
  • Selecting features, building, and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Development and definition of machine learning algorithms
  • Development and preprocessing of datasets for use in Machine Learning

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on data analytics experience
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Qlik, Tableau, Microsoft BI - Tableau Certification a plus!
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases
  • Experience with Python
  • Applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc. is a plus
  • Excellent scripting and programming skills
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Process-oriented with great documentation skills
  • Very strong business and technical (data) analysis techniques – e.g., root cause, process mapping
  • A good understanding of data, data lakes, and ETL processes
  • Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
