iGaming client looking for Service Application Engineer

  • Be the first person to kickstart team off in Malta whilst being given the opportunity to have an influence of ongoing projects and work closely with Head of Development.
  • Hybrid balance with flexible start and finish times.
This role is based on standard office hours (Monday to Friday).
 

Responsibilities:

  • Growing infrastructure, computing platforms (Cloud), monitoring, troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties. Including gathering and documenting symptoms, relevant details from users, analyzing log files.
  • Communicating events to stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership while also developing new alerts and monitoring techniques based on requirements.
  • Configuring, implementing and monitoring applications such as Ansible, Splunk, ElasticSearch Application Performance Monitoring, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Nginx, HAProxy, and others.
  • Integrating solutions with other applications and platforms based on engineering requirements.
  • Supporting multiple systems or applications of medium to highly complex (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Working with infrastructure engineers, DBAs and developers on building/deploying/supporting infrastructure changes, application and configuration changes, as well as cloud hosted resources (AWS & Azure).
  • Maintaining and expanding wiki documentation for areas pertaining to the role such as IT operations policies and procedures, troubleshooting knowledge base, deployment diagrams.
  • Managing active IT incidents and driving the root cause to the closure.

Requirements:

  • Flexible and able to adapt to operational requirements and priority changes.
  • Self-motivated, team player, tasks coordination, action Adapt to changes in technology and results oriented.
  • Strong analytic, conceptual and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production system monitoring and troubleshooting required.
  • Strong understanding of the software deployment life cycle.
  • Project & Performance management, Technology planning and execution.
  • Virtualization experience using Cloud.
  • Unix/Ubuntu, Linux, IIS web server, Nice to have Windows server 2012/2016/2019, LAN/WAN Technologies.
  • Experience in using automated monitoring and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices.
