Description

Our client, a leading provider of online and offline sports wagering are looking to recruit an experienced Research and Development Manager with a multidisciplinary background including software development and web development. The successful candidate will have experience of working within an Agile environment and preferably be a Scrum Master.  

Responsibilities include: 

• Be instrumental in developing an Agile Software Development process
• Understand the unique needs and development process associated with web development.
• Manage the integration, deployment and maintenance of externally developed systems. In some cases the R&D Manager will be required to manage off shore and outsourced development projects.
• Create systems and processes very quickly and to react to new and exciting business opportunities.
• URL reverse engineering to acquire access to system data and denial of service attacks requiring black hole redirection of traffic and the creation of upstream network arrangements to handle such attacks.
• Manage a team comprising of software developers, IT professionals and product managers

Skills: 

• Experience managing systems and organizations familiar with 24/7 uptime requirements, high internal and external security and high transaction database management processes
• Knowledgeable in both MS and Open Source Systems, having build, deployed and maintained systems using C++, C#, .Net, PHP, Java 
• Experience managing Javascript, Jason, Ruby On Rails, Flash, Python technologies is key
• Familiarity managing large (50+) machines server in multiple hosting centres.
• Experience deploying applications in a “Cloud” computing environment
• Excellent knowledge of TCPIP protocols and the HTTP protocol stack
• Previous experience in developing systems that are PCI compliant and have been audited and certified by an external auditor
• A minimum of 2 years Team Management experience
• Italian or German speaker, preferable
