DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with combined skills in providing development and operational support join our Operations team.

In this role, you will collaborate with our software development and QA teams to deploy and operate our systems. You will help us automate and streamline our operations and processes. You will also build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our production environment.

 

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Monitor the business’s site and software performance to ensure standard compliance.
  • Play an active role in improving the platform services.
  • Assist with the deployment of systems and devices in new site locations.
  • Monitor alerts, diagnose symptoms, analyse root causes, and implement preventative measures to improve overall system performance.
  • Handle reported issues with devices including the possible direction and guidance of personnel on location to solve any issue with the site/software/application.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the performance and reliability of platform services.
  • Participate in the design of operational tools to streamline operational activities.
  • Participate in the design of scalable operational tools that enable our customers and representatives to manage our systems.
  • Work in close collaboration with the development and QA teams to propose, improve and create solutions for deploying and monitoring sites/software/applications.
  • Improve existing instructional support and installation documentation.

 

Education and skills:

  • Education or experience equivalent to bachelor’ degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field.
  • Preferably 1 years of working experience in a DevOps capacity or similar field.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Skills in .NET, PHP, Java, databases (MySQL), scripting.
  • Experience with deployment, software configuration management tools, and building installation packages.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, Bamboo, ServiceDesk.
  • Skills with Linux or Windows server environments.
  • Previous experience in a 3rd level technical support position.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

The post will involve such other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Company from time to time.
