Lessons learned from iGaming North America

Lessons learned from iGaming North America

Fri 21 Mar 2014

Our Las Vegas, Nevada team attended one of the biggest events in iGaming this week, iGaming North America.

The conference, designed to educate people and provide valuable networking opportunities has proved particularly useful in introducing North American land based gaming businesses to the global industry. It has also provided a chance for people in the industry to learn about the potential impacts of regulation of iGaming in the US, and Canada, alongside any other relevant topics important to business comprising the commercial gaming segment.

We must also give  our VP of Recruitment for North America, Marwa Mitchell a special mention for delivering an excellent speech about staffing considerations on the staffing discussions panel during the event. If you were fortunate enough to hear Marwa speaking at iGaming North America or want to get in touch with any of our consultants who attended the conference, head to Our People page for contact details.

iGaming North America promised to provide critical information to operators, consultants and vendors, and attendees were sure not to be disappointed. One of our consultants from the US team, Christina Dunbar who attended the event this week had the following to say about the Global Gaming Women breakfast meeting, lead by Helene Keeley:-

‘’Helene Keeley, State Rep 3rd District Delaware General Assembly spoke this morning at the Global Gaming Women breakfast at iGNA2014. Women need to continue to make strides towards C-level executive positions and high ranking governmental offices.

iGNA2014 was also attended by the Senator from the U.S. Virgin Islands and members of her staff involved with the V.I. Casino Control Commission. The Virgin Islands is one of the first jurisdictions of the U.S. to approve Internet Gaming and Gambling.

In gaming, statistics regarding women follow suit with other male dominated industries and governmental agencies with only 2 women in CEO roles within gaming corporations currently.

The resources provided by the Global Gaming Women group are remarkable. Having worked in land based gaming operations for several years, I have seen first hand the uneven representation among the genders and attaining top level positions. It is the responsibility of all women in gaming, in fact all industries to make the effort to mentor, guide and promote more women to continue to make the female presence more powerful.''

We feel extrememly privileged to have attended iGaming North America 2014 and are looking forward to what next year has in store already. Keep checking back at the official website http://www.igamingnorthamerica.com/ for details and take a look at what other industry events are coming up this year on our blog.
